Under perfect weather, a large crowd gathered outside the Promedcare facility in Blair at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours. Guests were offered snacks and drinks, and the mood was positive.

Promedcare President Andrew Foxhoven explained the event.

“We’re part of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, and this is a Business After Hours that we’re sponsoring,” Foxhoven said. “And so then they’re kind of co-sponsoring and just invited all the chamber members and local businesses out to spend about an hour or two with us.”

Asked whether he knew everyone there, Foxhoven said he didn’t. “Not everybody. I mean, I’m meeting a lot of new people while we’re here, too,” he said.

He said he hoped the evening would do two things. “You know, I think build awareness about Promedcare and then also just make connections in the community,” Foxhoven said. “And you never know where those connections build on a personal note, too.”

He described the attendees. “And we’ve got a variety,” he said. “We’ve got RVR Bank, who are our bankers, and we’ve got people from all the different cable companies and lawyers and a whole variety of different chamber members.”

Foxhoven agreed that many of the guests likely won’t need Promedcare’s services anytime soon, but said they may know people who do. “Then they understand that we’re local, and we’re the only — that I know of — the only company with a local presence that we actually invest in the community,” he said.
