Rightfiber, formerly Great Plains Communications, has completed its acquisition of the Nebraska business of American Broadband Holding Co., which operates as Fastwyre Broadband.
The company announced the deal’s completion Oct. 1.
The acquisition includes Fastwyre’s operations in Arlington, Bassett, Belden, Bellevue, Blair, Carroll, Emerson, Fort Calhoun, Fremont, Herman, Homer, Kennard, Laurel, Lyons, Macy, Meadow Grove, Newport, Oakland, Osmond, Pender, Rosalie, Tekamah, Thurston, Walthill, Wayne and Winnebago.
Former Fastwyre customers in Nebraska are now Rightfiber customers. Rightfiber has begun integrating Fastwyre’s Nebraska operations. Customers will receive communications during the transition about products, services, billing and future enhancements.
“Our focus is on making this transition as seamless as possible,” Rightfiber CEO Heath Simpson said.
Rightfiber was formed in 2026 through the merger of Great Plains Communications and Ritter Communications. The company serves more than 400 communities in 20 states with more than 28,000 route miles of fiber. It is owned by Grain Management, an investment firm.
“Nebraska has been an important part of our story for more than 115 years, and completing this acquisition reinforces our long-term commitment to the communities we serve across the state,” Rightfiber Executive Chairman Todd Foje said.
