Mikel Brodersen obit

Mikel Robert Brodersen, 75, passed away on Oct. 22, 2026. Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026 at 11 AM at Abne Events in Herman. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services, beginning at 10 AM at Abne Events.

Mikel Robert Brodersen was born on Aug. 14, 1951, to Robert and Pearl Brodersen, who preceded him in death. Mike spent his life farming and trucking, taking pride in hard work and providing for his family. On Jan. 10, 1971, he married Kathy Larsen, the love of his life. Together they shared more than 55 years of marriage and raised four children: Jennifer Uhing, Chad (Stephanie) Brodersen, Allison (John) Ehrens, and Emily Brodersen. He was preceded in death by daughter, Jennifer and niece, Megan Cameron.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children: Allison (John) Ehrens, Emily Brodersen, and Chad (Stephanie) Brodersen; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many extended family members and friends.

Known for his quick wit, great storytelling, and ability to tell a good joke, Mike brought laughter wherever he went. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to family, and the joy he shared with those around him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
