Blair softball coaches salute eight seniors: ‘Once a Bear, always a Bear’

Our season came to an end a little sooner than we had hoped in the district final against Wahoo this past weekend, but that doesn’t take away from how proud we are of our eight seniors: Laynie Brown, Regan Blattert, Emmi Hall, Kaylie Johnson, Kaitlynn O’Neil, Taytum Macholan, Mia McClain, and Taylor Munger.
I’d like to take a moment to recognize these eight young women who have given so much to Blair Softball over the years. They’ve put in countless hours, worked through challenges, celebrated successes, and helped make this program what it is today. Each of them has brought something different to our team, and we are thankful for the impact they’ve made.
One of our favorite parts of coaching in Blair is seeing the young girls in our community look up to our high school players. It seemed like not long ago these seniors were sitting where the young girls in the stands were, hoping they’d get to wear the same jersey that they wore proudly these last four years. We hope they understand that the example they’ve set matters, and that they’ve helped pave the way for the girls who will come after them.
To our seniors, thank you for your hard work, your commitment, and for trusting us to be your coaches. We certainly wish we could have had a few more days on the dirt together, but we wouldn’t trade the memories or relationships we’ve built along the way. We hope you leave this program knowing how much you’ve meant to us and how much we appreciate everything you’ve given.
As you finish your senior year and get ready for whatever comes next, know that we’ll always be cheering you on. We’re proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what your futures hold.
You were never just built for softball. You were BUILT FOR MORE. Once a Bear, always a Bear!
